Freddies of Pinewood

About Freddies of Pinewood:

Phil and Jo Whyte are vintage clothing royalty. They are both original denim obsessives. They are also the founders, owners and designers of the Freddie’s of Pinewood label: the ultimate in 40’s and 50’s reproduction clothing.

Both Phil and Jo developed their love of the 40’s and 50’s music, Americana and vintage clothing from a pre-teen age. They met and married during the early 1980’s and their combined personal vintage wardrobes soon evolved into a profession. They have amassed a huge collection of vintage denim with Jo concentrating on ladies jeans from the 1940s and 50’s.But not just collectors…it’s their daily wardrobe!! Then, a humble market stall in Camden in the early 90’s soon developed into a permanent presence at national and international rock n roll weekenders, providing the great and the good of the rockin’ scene with carefully chosen authentic pieces and perfect reproduction denims and outerwear.

In 1995 Phil and Jo’s legendary vintage clothing shop – Rock-a-Round – opened in the South East of England to wide acclaim. Rock-a-Round ran from strength to strength for 12 years until the Whytes decided to put all efforts into their Freddie’s of Pinewood reproduction clothing label. 2015 celebrates 15 years of the Freddie’s of Pinewood ladies original Classic Indigo Jean which has maintained the exact same vintage style and quality since 1999. The Freddie’s of Pinewood label now offers mens denim and a wide selection of mens and ladies perfectly reproduced vintage outerwear and accessories. Phil and Jo reside in 1950’s paradise in Frinton-on-Sea with their dog Ted.
